The Embassy continues to work in the economic recovery agenda facilitating connections among Irish and Colombian businesses
At end of August Ambassador Patricia Cortés Ortiz had the opportunity to hold meetings with the CEO of Chambers Ireland, Ian Talbot, and with Director, EU & International Affairs at IBEC, Pat Ivory. The Ambassador reiterated the intent of the Embassy to work in an economic reactivation agenda in 2021, as well as its willingness to serve as a platform to facilitate connections among the private sector in Ireland and Colombia.
The Embassy confirmed the advancement in investment opportunities in the sectors of agroindustry, renewable energies, or life sciences. The Ambassador also highlighted the progress strengthening and diversifying the exports from Colombia, in particular the efforts of the Embassy towards making coffee, cocoa, flowers, fresh fruits, and textiles more widely available in the Irish market.
The engagement of companies and government agencies has been promoted through the Embassy’s invitation to virtual events such as the Colombian Investment Summit (CIS) or the offline Business Matchmaking event organised within the framework of Expo Dubai. Expo Dubai will include the participation of over 300 entrepreneurs from Colombia to showcase products and services from the agribusiness, manufacturing, chemicals & life sciences, industries 4.0 and apparel & accessories sectors.
