Como parte del Plan de Promoción de Colombia en el Exterior, la Embajada de Colombia en Irlanda se complace en anunciar la colaboración con el Programa de Mentoría de Words Ireland por segundo año consecutivo con ocasión de apoyar una mentoría con la autora cartagenera, Margarita García Robayo.

La Embajada de Colombia en Irlanda es la primera y única institución no irlandesa que patrocina una oportunidad dentro del programa de mentoría. En palabras de la Embajadora Patricia Cortés Ortiz, en referencia a la experiencia en 2020 con el popular novelista Jorge Franco, “este proyecto tan especial tiene como objetivo unir a escritores de dos continentes y promover lazos a largo plazo entre la literatura irlandesa y colombiana.”

Dublin (June 16/21) As a part of the Plan to Promote Colombia Abroad, the Embassy of Colombia in Ireland is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Words Ireland Mentoring Programme, which is now entering its second year. The Embassy is supporting a mentoring opportunity with Colombian author from Cartagena Margarita García Robayo.

The Embassy of Colombia in Ireland is the first and only non-Irish organization to support a mentoring opportunity in the Words Ireland Programme. In the words of Colombian Ambassador, Patricia Cortés, referring to the experience in 2020 with best-selling novelist Jorge Franco, “this special collaboration aims to connect writers across continents and promote long-term links between the Irish and Colombian literary world.”

García Robayo is not only an accomplished and award-winning writer, she has also offered several workshops and masterclasses for aspiring writers.

The Ambassador highlighted the important ties that unite Colombia and Ireland, which have been strengthened since the reciprocal opening of the diplomatic missions in Dublin and Bogotá. He stressed that Colombia works to maximize business opportunities that will generate an economic reactivation after COVID and that there are important cooperation initiatives in education, science and agriculture. Likewise, the Ambassador thanked the Irish government for its public demonstrations in support of the implementation of the Agreement and its contribution through cooperation and peace funds from the United Nations and the European Union.
