Ambassador Betty Escorcia Baquero had the opportunity to meet Tánaiste and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Simon Harris during Ireland’s National Day of Commemoration held on Sunday 13th July in Dublin Castle. Ambassador Escorcia celebrated the Tánaiste’s commitment to foreign policy and the Global Ireland initiative and expressed Colombia’s interest in continuing to strengthening the bilateral relations with Ireland through political engagement at the highest level.
Colombia’s creativity wins in its debut at Cannes Lions 2025 with the imaginative Humanimal Tourism and Runways of Hidden Beauty
Colombia earned a historic trio of awards in its first participation at the Cannes Lions 2025, the most prestigious event in advertising and communications worldwide. The recipients of the awards were Humanimal Tourism and Runways of Hidden Beauty, both included in a wider narrative now part of the national identity: Colombia, the Country of Beauty. Humanimal Tourism transformed the migratory routes of over 1,200 species into personalised messages for tourists in more than 30 countries, blending creativity and technology, the campaign showcased Colombia’s biodiversity and affirmed its status as the world’s top destination for nature lovers. While Runways of Hidden Beauty, focused on promoting the renovation and development of new off-the-beaten-path airstrips and destinations across several regions. Read more.

Building bridges in tourism
Colombian Ambassador, Betty Escorcia Baquero, hosted a breakfast for tourism professionals in Ireland: tour operators, travel journalists, and Irish tourism promotion associations and invited them to "discover a country full of color, rhythm, nature, and passion", and shared the Embassy's intention to build bridges between Ireland and Colombia, by creating meaningful and engaging experiences for Irish tourists.
